When a hiker’s paradise awaits right outside your door

Hiking Trails and Mountain Tours

A total of 350 kilometers of varied hiking trails await you here in the Passeier Valley. That means you could choose a new route every day and still never get bored. And since many of the trails start right in front of our house, our motto “a private vacation” takes on a whole new meaning. At the Lagar, you can enjoy your privacy from morning to night and plan your day exactly as you wish—whether you’re a leisure hiker, a mountaineer, or a nature lover.

You’ll find many different hiking trails in our guest folder.

The E5 Long-Distance Hiking Trail

The king of hiking trails also passes through our Passeier Valley: it is the European long-distance hiking trail that runs from the French Atlantic coast across the Alps to Venice. The so-called “King’s Stage” leads from the Braunschweiger Hut in the Pitztal through the Ötztal and over the Timmelsjoch to Moos in Passeier (not far from us) and can be completed in two or three days. Here in the Passeier Valley, hikers can expect not only breathtaking views of the valley but also waterfalls and rushing streams.

The Passerschlucht gorge

The Passerschlucht gorge is located where modern metal-grating trails wind their way along the gorge, passing by waterfalls and steep slopes time and again. It’s an approximately 6.5-kilometer trail that you can start right here in St. Leonhard. After about 2½ hours, you’ll reach your destination: Moos in Passeier. You can return via the same route or by bus. A “refreshing” excursion that you definitely shouldn’t miss.
